| Posted: 29 Apr 2010 11:14 AM PDT If you have a PC or work around them, you should be familiar with McAfee. They are one of the top computer security companies in the world. If you have an Android device on SK Telecom in Korea you will soon be able to download this free Anti-Malware software to your handset.
This software is designed for your Android device and it has similar functions to the desktop version of the security suite. Your personal information will also be secured as well as the app will automatically update itself and scan your device. The folks over at Androidguys are reporting this will be a free download for the Motorola XT720 and more Android devices will be added in the near future. |
| Posted: 29 Apr 2010 11:02 AM PDT Whoever is in charge of marketing Verizon's Droid phones needs to get a raise. They've done it again. This commercial like the first commercial for the Droid doesn't even have the Incredible in it and yet it makes you want it.
Sticking with the dark theme of the original, this commercial feels like it's a preview to a horror movie. The Matrix like string of words is also eye catching. Given the fact that they are already sold out, this new commercial will surely aid another sell out of the new batch. Click here to view the embedded video. [via droidog] |
| Google updates mobile image search for Android Posted: 28 Apr 2010 04:33 PM PDT This upgrade is done so well that when you see it on your phone you will forget that you are accessing it from your phones browser. Its so fluid that it seems like it's an app. Google is doing a lot of great things to improve their mobile sites and so far they all are a hit.
Click here to view the embedded video. There is almost no lag when swiping from picture to picture. The thumbnails render really fast and scrolling through them is also quick. The only thing missing is the ability to zoom. You can't do this by double tapping or pinch, this will likely be added in a future update. But as it stands, it's a great site. Go check it out and see how you like it. [via Google] |
| Posted: 28 Apr 2010 04:24 PM PDT Notice any changes in Google Maps lately? Place Pages is a service that combined street view images with reviews and hours of operation for various destinations. You can even access these features right from your Android handsets browser. This service will help you and your friends pick the right place to dine or visit.
Click here to view the embedded video. I tried this out earlier and when you click on a place all sorts of information about it pops up. The pages are beautifully rendered to fit your mobile device. This takes a little more work to do then the Places directory app but it seems to be more useful. Try it out and see how you like it. [via Google] |
