Android-Based ICD Gemini is Most Feature-Complete Tablet Yet

Posted: 06 Apr 2010 11:04 AM PDT

The title is a statement made by our friends over at Engadget and I totally agree. This thing is a monster. If you wasted your money on an iPad, that that crap back and wait on this. Besides being Android, this thing is awesome in every way.

Let's see if I have enough space to list all the features of this device. its capable of 1080p video, replaceable 40Wh battery, an SD card reader, FM radio, GPS, 802.11n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, MicroUSB connectivity to PCs and USB peripherals, stereo speakers, and dual webcams — a 2 megapixel front-facing unit and a 5 megapixel auto focusing snapper on the back. That's not all folks; it has a multi-touch screen, 3G, 1,366 x 768 resolution and is flash compatible. Did I mention how beautiful it is?

CallTrack Lists All Calls On Your Google Calendar

Posted: 06 Apr 2010 10:46 AM PDT

For all you people that love to be organized, this is a great app for you. This app will log every call you get or you can select a particular number to log. It's a very lightweight app and when you open it, all there's only a few options to choose from. So if you like bells and whistles, this may not be for you. But if you're like me and want to get right to the point, then you're going to love this. It's a free app but it's only available to Android 2.0.1 and up devices.

Market Description:

“CallTrack logs your phone activity to your Google Calendar. You can select the type of calls to log (incoming, outgoing, and missed) and the calendar to log them in. You can also dump your current call log to your calendar.

Currently only Android 2.0.1 and higher.”

Preorder Your X10 – Roger’s Wireless

Posted: 06 Apr 2010 10:25 AM PDT

If you're not aware, Roger's Wireless is expecting preorders for the Sony X10. It's offered for $149.99 with a 3-year contract and if you sign up for preorder you will receive a free Sony Ericsson MW600 wireless headset. The last preorders will be taken April 14th.

This phone feature's a 1 GHz Snapdragon processor, 4 inch display, and 8.1 megapixel camera and a custom UI by Sony dubbed, Rachael. If you stay in the US, and want this, it has the same 3G bands as AT&T. but, with the recent release of the Droid, Nexus One and all the upcoming 2.1 Android device, I would think that there aren't a lot of us that want this anymore. It ships with Android 1.6 and it is not capable of multi-touch. These two factors are deal breakers for most. But, if you've been waiting for this to release, head over to Roger's and place your order.

Rhapsody launches Android streaming app

Today, Rhapsody has removed this app out of beta. This app brings with it the ability to stream over 9.5 millions songs to your Android device.  So if you have a paid Rhapsody subscription, this is the app you have been waiting for. If you don't have a subscription you can sign up for a seven day trial and see how it goes, you might love it and decide to keep it.

Market Description:

“Hear your old favorites or listen to the newest releases. The Rhapsody App makes it easy to tap into over 9 million songs from wherever you are. With a subscription, you can listen to anything and everything in the catalog–and offline playback coming soon. Download the beta today and try it FREE*.”

For some reason it’s still listed as beta in the market. Maybe sometime today it will be updated. Check it out and see if it’s for you or not.

Is this the Samsung Moment 2?

Posted: 06 Apr 2010 09:56 AM PDT

Is this the Samsung Moment 2? I for don't think so. It would be a bad move by both Samsung a Sprint to release a second version of this device only 6 months after the release of the original. I think this is a prototype or developer version of the Moment. Although, I could be wrong, this could happen and it could happen soon.

The rumor around the web is this is the Moment 2, SPH-M910. It will be the first Android 2.1 device on Sprint and it will release before the EVO 4G. Like the Nexus one, it has 4 capacitive keys but has an optical tracpad. And it will feature TouchWiz 3.0 and a processor clock at 1GHZ or better. How all you current Moment owners feel about this?

Sharp ISO1 Android Smartbook – Video

Posted: 06 Apr 2010 09:28 AM PDT

At the end of last month we told you about Sharp's plans to offer two Android MID's with full QWERTY keyboards. Specs and pictures are here. Recently, two videos surfaced with these new devices in action. This video was posted by Gigazine.

Click here to view the embedded video.

The screen looks pretty good and navigation seems smooth. Multi-touch is a welcome addition also and a must have for some. The video lacked substance; I would've loved to see the keyboard in action and a few other things like the market, maps and maybe a few apps. Hopefully the next video will show these things and more.

Big in Japan Announces Winner of First ShopSavvy Fan Video Competition, Launches Follow-up Contest

Posted: 05 Apr 2010 08:07 PM PDT

You like getting stuff for free? Well, you missed out on a free Nexus One if you didn't enter Big in Japan's first video contest. They announced the winner today, a college student from the University of Texas named Demi Adejuyigbe. But there's a second contest now and you could be the winner of a Motorola Droid.

"Demi's video provides a great illustration of how millions of consumers around the world are using ShopSavvy every day – in many cases, changing the way they shop forever," said Alexander Muse, co-founder of Big in Japan.

Said Adejuyigbe: "As a college student, I’m forced to be frugal everywhere and anywhere I can be. I've saved well over $1,000 with this application — including about $200 on the video camera I used to shoot this video. I take it with me whenever I shop."

You can view Adejuyigbe's winning video at the following link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wK6HykLLcxE

To enter the second ShopSavvy fan video contest, interested users should:

* record a short video (two minutes or less) describing how they used ShopSavvy to save money while shopping;
* provide details such as store name, location, product name, and amount saved;
* star in the video themselves (no actors);
* be sure to show their phone running ShopSavvy;
* upload the video to YouTube, including the title "ShopSavvy Fan Video from (name)" and the tags "shopsavvy, shop savvy, barcode, barcode scanner, upc, ean";
* focus on your savings from ShopSavvy – do not mention the contest itself;
* e-mail your name, mailing address and a link to your video to sales@biggu.com.

The Droid winner will be selected from the first 100 entries received, so users are encouraged to submit their videos promptly, and no later than May 15. Only one entry per user will be accepted.

Ok folks, there you have it. Get creative come up with something interesting and you could be the next lucky winner. Good luck!!

T-Mobile stores receiving Nexus One accessories?

Posted: 05 Apr 2010 11:24 AM PDT

We'd prefer to see the actual phone in stores but having the accessories there is as good as it going to get in the near future. A tipster has sent the guys over at TmoToday pictures of a few accessories for the Nexus One. Is the phone coming soon? I sure hope so but for now let's enjoy these little treats.

As you can see from the pictures, the word's Google or Nexus one isn't anywhere on the box. These accessories have been branded with HTC only. Hopefully this is the first step to us being able to see and play with the device in stores. Who knows, maybe the dock and future docks will be available soon as well.
