T-Mobile UK expecting 10,000 HTC Desire’s next week

Posted: 09 Apr 2010 06:12 AM PDT

Yes, the saga continues. The launch of the HTC Desire in the UK has been a huge mess so far. First it's ready to go, and then there has been delay after delay. T-Mobile may come to the rescues soon with this large shipment of handsets.

T-Mobile is expecting 10,000 HTC Desires to arrive on Wednesday of next week. These additional handsets will be sent to users that are still waiting on their shipment to arrive. So, if you have been waiting on your order, you have a short week left before it is, hopefully in your hands.

A comment from a user at T-Mobile’s forum:

“I have just been informed by a T-Mo store manager (chippenham) that they’re expecting to get stock in store on Wednesday. 10,000 handsets are on their way from HTC as we speak and should get to the T-Mo central distribution/warehouse a few days before Wednesday, fulfilling phone and online orders before the remainder gets filtered down to the high street stores”

There were also a few specs mentioned in papers as well.

This smartphone runs on the WCDMA Band IV for 3G, which is T-Mobiles AWS spectrum. It has 320×480 display, most likely the screen will be another 3.2 inch, 3.5 is possible. And continuing the trend of newer smartphone's, it has an optical track pad with push button, the camera now has flash. There's an ARM 11 processor, 1300mAh battery 3.5mm jack and comes in red, white, or black. This device is rumored to be released in the middle of May.

Posted: 08 Apr 2010 11:58 AM PDT

Looks like the Samsung Moment may be joining the ranks of Android 2.1 soon. The official OTA has been leaked earlier today. Not one but two versions of the update have been leaked over at the SDX developer's site.

The two versions are ECLAIR.DC23 and ECLAIR.DD03. Most users are saying ECLAIR.DD03 is the better of the two. Although, some users are reporting issues with the market other than that it seems pretty stable a solid. So, if you don't mind wiping your phone or potentially bricking, head over to the SDX and give it a go.
