Mint Coming to Android

Posted: 13 Apr 2010 07:00 AM PDT

Are you looking for a good budgeting and expense tracking app? Mint may be the solution to your problems. They are currently working on bringing this app to Android. Between Mint's web-based service and their iPhone app, they provide great service to over 2 million users.

The Mint app will be connected to their website, you will be able to budget, analyze and track your spending right from your Android handset. This is very useful for when you want to track your account while you're out and about. There is currently no release date set for this app, Mint has recently released the following statement on their site:

Customer feedback and requests help determine upcoming products and features from Mint.com. In the coming months, the Mint team plans to address user requests, adding support for thousands of additional financial institutions and an Android application to expand its mobile presence beyond its award-winning iPhone application.

Intel Has Plans For Atom Based Android Devices

Posted: 13 Apr 2010 06:43 AM PDT

Looks like Intel is late to their own party. We've seen Android running on x86 CPU's numerous times before. Intel has recently announced plans to enter the Android game. They are the leading CPU manufacturer and are now looking to take a cut into ARM's profit.

Intel already has Android running on Atom-based smartphones and certain customers are interested in using it, said Renee James, general manager of Intel’s software and services group, on the sidelines of the Intel Developer Forum (IDF) in Beijing.

Most of their leg work has been done by other companies. Intel is hoping these Atom-based Android devices will be a huge hit. With their track record, I expect nothing less than greatness from them and their products. We may start to see these devices soon since they have some working products. The ninja spy shots should start to pop up soon.

myTouch Slide, Something Old and Something New

Posted: 13 Apr 2010 06:28 AM PDT

Let's start off with the old. Keeping the trend started by the G1, the myTouch Slide will be available in a variety of colors. The standard black and white but this time around merlot has been replaced in favor of red.  If you're a fan of the optical trackpad, it will make an appearance on the device along with a few capacitive buttons and a new "G" button.

And that brings us to the something new. Apparently T-Mobile has added the "G" button which has its own Android app. T-Mobile trademarked this G button back in March. The folks over at AndroidGuys have uncovered a picture of the trademark; nobody knows what this app will do. Hopefully it does something really cool unlike most carrier specific apps. Will this button an app be included in future Android offerings from T-Mobile? Only time will tell, more information on this "Genius Button" will hopefully leak out soon, I'm interested in knowing what it does.

Verizon HTC Incredible full specs leak

Posted: 13 Apr 2010 06:08 AM PDT

What specs we’ve seen of the HTC Incredible so far have pretty much left us convinced that its name is well-deserved, but if we needed any final persuasion then the full leaked spec sheet is easily sufficient.  Acquired by BGR, the Verizon-sourced document – which lists the handset as the HTC Incredible ADR6300 – confirms the 1GHz Snapdragon processor, 3.7-inch WVGA OLED touchscreen and 8GB of onboard storage.

There’s also an 8-megapixel camera with autofocus, WiFi b/g/n, 512MB of both ROM and RAM and dualband EVDO Rev.A.  The Incredible runs Android 2.1 with HTC’s Sense UI, and measures in at 4.63 x 2.3 x 0.47 inches and weighs 4.59oz.

All in all it’s working out to be a great device, and we’re wondering exactly who’ll be plumping for the also-imminent Verizon Nexus One rather than picking up the better-spec’d Incredible.  Last we heard, the HTC Incredible will arrive on Verizon come April 29th.
