Interactiv’ Boxing And No Misspelling Here

Posted: 05 Apr 2010 08:57 AM PDT

I tried boxing once and sucked at it. Yes friends, I hit about as hard as bird poop on a car window. It’s pathetic so before I return to the boxing gym, I need the Interactiv’ Boxing companion. It’s wall mounted and as the name suggests, interactive! Aim for the targets as they light up and choose from 10 training programs. They come with a pair of gloves so fistacuffs is not the name of the game here. Once I’m good and ready, I can return to the boxing gym with my head held high.

Design a LG Phone That’s Not Too Futuristic!

Posted: 05 Apr 2010 08:47 AM PDT

Update: 21 days left!

LG, Autodesk, and crowdSPRING in the same breath can mean only one thing: Time to participate in LG's Design The Future Competition. This year there is a certain twist in the tale, so do you consider yourself a designer up for a real-world challenge? There is little room for speculation because you need to design a revolutionary mobile device that will appeal to the cellphone-generation of United States, 2-3 years down the line. Drawing up a long list of specs will get you nowhere, but illustrating an innovative new experience or story on a 1024 x 3072 pixels page can win you some real handsome booty. There's even a chance to have your design be made into a non-working mock-up by guest judge Russell Bobbitt, a world renowned movie prop master (Star Trek, Iron Man and Iron Man 2). Imagine seeing your mock-up in Bobbitt's next blockbuster film. How cool would that be?

Tang, Tea And More, On The Go

Posted: 05 Apr 2010 05:10 AM PDT

Cumulus Bottle concept is simple, it’s a plain reusable bottle with a juice concentrate dispenser located in the cap. Pop in the juice cartridge into its compartment, fill in the water and you’re set. At the push of a button, the drink concentrate (or granules) dispense into the water and mix into a refreshing drink. Most often we discard the used juice/soda bottles, but with the Cumulus, we eliminate that action and re-use it time and again for flavored drinks on the go. Eco-consumers at their best!

Nintendo 3DS With Huge Screens!

Posted: 05 Apr 2010 02:38 AM PDT

Olivier Demangel is basically a 3D artist and his take on Nintendo is really awesome. What's missing in the real-world version is screen real estate and this concept takes care of that. Over the years many designers have had their take on this game console, but thus far I like this the best. So what do you think…do we need a Nintendo DS redesign or are you happy with what you got? Psst…those who want a peek at what an iPhone gaming console should look like, hit this link.

These Kisses are NOT for Eating!

Posted: 05 Apr 2010 12:17 AM PDT

I mean it! They’d rip holes in your gullet all day long! Nay! These are for a much more technologically advanced purpose. Yes! It is true, they are made specifically for holding your compact-disk-shaped objects aloft. You too, can experience the perfectly lovely shape and usefulness of the kissy object without all of that melty, irresistible chocolaty innard. That’s what’s going on here. Made out of aluminum.

At 3.2cm D and 3cm H, this little kiss might be the smallest gadget-related device you’ve got sitting on your table, and with non of that pesky technology. Truly diverse, this kiss comes in green, blue, red, and even your favorite, black. Gotta catch them all -gotta desk them all!

And I must reiterate because it is so important: do NOT swallow these, for truly the truth will come swiftly to your tastebuds – not chocolaty, but aluminumy, this is.

Cuteness at Tea Time

Posted: 05 Apr 2010 12:15 AM PDT

All you cuties out there who drink tea! Your time is now! Yes, today you, yes you, get another sensory experience out of your time for tea. And it’s so small, and it’s so cute. It’s kawaii. No, it’s super kawaii! It is a spoon from designer Ha Cho Hee. And guess what? The name of the designer rhymes with the name of the spoon. How cute! It’s the “When You Stir Tea” by Ha Cho Hee! Hooray!

In this spoon is a totally additional sensation for you. In drinking tea, Cho Hee explains to us, sensory cells are opened up: fragrance, beautiful color and good taste, and warm cup. Today, H.C.H. adds another! It is the bell sound of the spoon.

At the top (or the bottom, however you see it), the spoon has a bell that rings upon stirring.

Oh joy!

Creature Feature Time

Posted: 05 Apr 2010 12:03 AM PDT

It’s that time again! It’s time for a clock. This one is frightfully titled “Creature Clock”, but not in such a terrible way. Nay! This is truly the monster you’ll love to have around your bedside. In five pieces. Yes, weird! Wonderfully abstract! This clock comes in five distinct pieces that you set out, all next to one another, on your shelf or counter, all of them in a group as one. On the one you can see the time, but as there are no numbers, and the forms are mere suggestions of beings, it is all very vague.

Truly that is the aim though, to cast in your mind the idea that time is not an absolute measurement but instead a mathematical representation. And of course, that “the past is always just gone, the present is always fleeting, and the future is always a tick away.”
