| Motorola Motoroi Headed To The UK With a Few Upgrades Posted: 11 May 2010 10:19 AM PDT The last time we heard about this phone, it was on its way to Korea for a launch there. Well it's been there awhile now and it seems Motorola is ready to start its world tour. There were also rumors that this device will land on T-Mobile USA, hopefully it does and it includes the upgrades mentioned after the break.
According to Unwiredview, this phone will receive multiple upgrades before it makes it way over to the United Kingdom. For starters it will be upgraded from Android 2.0 to 2.1, and it will be fitted with an HDMI port. It also has a 3.7 inch WVGA touch screen, 8MP camera with Xenon flash on the back and 720p video recording. The ROM and RAM may get bumped up as well as the infamous Snapdragon could get implanted into the device. If this is true, this will be another Android 2.1 MotoBlur device in the works. This phone will also bring with it a few alterations to Android.
Notice from the picture above, LG has made a few tweaks to this version on Android 2.1. LG will introduce their own set of widgets with this device and like most new handsets these days it will be connected to a few you're favorite networking sites.
Specifications: # 800/1900 MHz CDMA, EVDO Rev A

| Posted: 10 May 2010 07:50 PM PDT According to techland, they had a meeting with Andrew Sherrard, the VP of Production Innovation for T-Mobile and he confirmed that the mytouch 3G will indeed receive the Android 2.1 update. Its currently being tested all we have to do now is wait for the OTA.
This won't be an update to plain ole vanilla Android, it will include Sense UI. The original myTouch will receive the same version of Sense that is on the upcoming myTouch Slide. The "genius" feature will also be included in the update. This is great news for all myTouch users, you are not forgotten. There is still no official word on when or if the G1 will be updated. | Verizon’s Droid Eris Getting 2.1 Tomorrow? Posted: 10 May 2010 03:07 PM PDT According to an internal memo that was leaked to Mobilecrunch, the Droid Eris will receive its update to Android 2.1 tomorrow. Is this a fact, I would say no but it could happen. If this is true the Droid Eris will join the Nexus One and the Droid as the only 2.1 devices in the US.
The memo stated that the update was "tentatively scheduled" to start tomorrow. Judging from past 2.1 updates, there's a really good chance that this will not happen. But, if it does there will be a lot of happy Eris owners. Having Android 2.1 on the Eris will give it new life and it will feel like an entirely different phone. Guess we'll all find out tomorrow if this is real or not. |
| Sprint Will Pass on The Nexus One Posted: 10 May 2010 02:22 PM PDT First Verizon, which was one of the launch partners for the Nexus One, now Sprint. According to Gizmodo, Sprint will opt not to offer support for the Nexus One. I'm not necessarily sold that this is a good move them or not. They sure could use a phone like this in their lineup. Sprint doesn't exactly have the same assortment of powerful phones as Verizon so this is an odd move for them to make.
This phone paired with the EVO would've given Sprint hands down the most powerful Android lineup. This decision may have been made largely because of the fact the EVO is due out soon. When it's released the EVO will arguably the best phone on the market of any type. Maybe Sprint doesn't want the Nexus to take potential sales from the EVO? Whatever the reason it would've been awesome to see the top vanilla Android device side by side with the top Sense UI device. Let's keep our fingers crossed and hope that Sprint does offer support for the Nexus. |
| Motorola FlipOut Featuring MotoBlur Posted: 10 May 2010 02:06 PM PDT Remember this square shaped ugly little fellow? Yes, it's real and it's coming soon. The original story behind the leaked photo of this device had us all calling Photoshop. Turns out this are an actual device so maybe the story was real. If so there may be one less employee in the Motorola camp.
So if you're not familiar with the story behind this phone. Some guy let his son take the prototype to school and he in turn let one of friends borrow it that then took pictures of it and leaked them on the internet. This story was so farfetched most of us believed it to be a fake. Then, a few days pass and this article shows up which made it a little more valid. Those of us that were skeptical now know that we were wrong and this device is indeed real and it's coming soon.
This square shaped handset is called the FlipOut by Motorola. It features a screen that flips to the side kind of sidekickish. It will be an Android 2.1 device with MOTOBLUR. The initial specs actually aren't that bad for a low-end device. It will come in a few different colors as well. * 3.1 MP camera [via mobilecrunch] |

| Samsung Galaxy A Unboxed And Demoed on Video Posted: 10 May 2010 12:06 PM PDT The Samsung Galaxy A is a sexy device. It looks better on the video than it does in pictures. And it's a pretty quick device even though its 1GHZ processor is under clocked to 768. It gets unboxed kind of fast but you get the point.
SK Telecom has a nice assortment of Android devices and this is no exception. It may very well be the best in their lineup. It features features a 3.7 inch WVGA AMOLED display, a 720MHz processor, terrestrial DMB, 8GB of internal memory and DivX support based on Android 2.1. As much as we've learned about this device, there's still no word on pricing. Click here to view the embedded video. [via zerobrownkim] |
