Google's Royalty-Free VP8 Codec – A Move Forward Posted: 19 May 2010 10:30 AM PDT Google made some interesting news today when they announced their VP8 codec (acquired from On2 last year) will be the source of a new open and royalty-free video format they're spearheading, known as WebM. As a leader in visual computing, NVIDIA is always looking to enable users with the best video experiences, whether it's creating, viewing or broadcasting.
