Posted: 18 Jun 2010 02:37 AM PDT

Besides being good for your flubber, skipping seems to be a good way for harnessing energy to recharge batteries. I know this idea is not so new; we have seen how jumping a rope can power a torch and juice batteries. However design is not only about problem solving, but also about refining existing solutions, hence the E Rope. Refinement comes in the form of aesthetics and interface. Both look gorgeously done in this one. Moreover, the video says it all…..

Bus Stop High On OLED

Posted: 18 Jun 2010 02:19 AM PDT

At least you got decent bus stops in your country, so you got no reason to complain. Look at us, here in the developing world, we are modern enough to have internet at home, but basics like infrastructure and bus stops are totally lacking. So when I see innovation in such fields, I kinda get envious at times. Like, I would love to have a chic looking Inox-O Bench at my bus stop. It's got fancy OLED screens to illuminate it and give you trivia like temperature and time. A proper shelter from the elements and a safer spot at night.

Dish Paws

Posted: 18 Jun 2010 01:58 AM PDT

Do you have dish paws? Paws that do dishes or any sorts of cleaning in a jiffy. So efficient that you want to have them on all the time, especially if you are a cleanliness freak! Basically we’re looking at mittens with polypropylene woven in a rope form, covering the outer skin. And it's the whole glove that is being used as a cleaning brush or "Brüsh" as Liang calls it. Special attention has been giving to the pressure points like the tips and the base of the palm (color coded grey). These areas are covered with a harder version of polypropylene to add power to the scrubbing.

I think the red and grey combo looks awesome!

The iPad Under Mouse

Posted: 18 Jun 2010 12:10 AM PDT

Let me tell you a little bit about what I know of world commerce. There’s information, which travels at the speed of light, then there’s product, which travels at the speed of a van, then a boat, then a van, then a train, then a car. It’s slower than light. This causes a bit of annoyance in the world of electronics and multimedia. Why? Because Russia doesn’t have their iPads yet! So what did the folks at DarkDesignGroup (Russian design group) do?

They made the iMousePad.

Simple. Silly. Amazing.

And that’s all there really is to say about that. It’s a mouse pad. It’s clever. It’s excellent.

And I don’t think it’s licensed by Apple. Just a hunch.

Oblique Method in Chair Creation

Posted: 18 Jun 2010 12:03 AM PDT

From the pits of imagination comes this! The non-regularly angled chair! Yes, from the bent mind of designer Sung-Hyeop Seo comes this chair whose main objective is to bend regularity just that little bit more than average. Tired of square after square, perfect circle after perfect circle in furniture making, Sung-Hyeop created this chair, the “OBC 01″ to resist! OBC 01 stands for Oblique Chair number one! Design change begins here!

Now, this isn’t the first chair to ever have a non-regular angle. Duh. There are chairs and chairs and chairs that do that already. It’s the thought of the thing – the stripped-down look, feel, and direct sitting function, all of this, that turns the mind to the obliqueness of it all. All of it, all of it so oblique.

A Luxurious Undersea Vehicle

Posted: 18 Jun 2010 12:02 AM PDT

For you, the discerning consumer, here’s the best and newest undersea yacht. What’s that? You say they’ve already invented that? You say it’s called a submarine? You crazy. This is a submarine for people who want a pleasure cruise, not a U-boat can of sardines situation. This sassy lady can run on diesel or switch to electric propulsion. The inner surface is greater than 700mq, which, if you didn’t know, is large enough to have a good time in. Travel above the waves in the nice weather, cruise underneath them when the storms start to stir.

The entire craft is 66.5m, this “U-101 Undersea Yacht” is sleek, aerodynamic, and sexy. Above the waves you can drive your little single-person jets up to the back deck and walk right on or off. Dive off the sides, have a drink up top, anything. Inside’s not just big, it’s huge. Gigantic. Hugenormous. It looks like Dr. Evil’s meeting hall, and that’s only half of it. It’s so lux. So mag.

I’ll take two. Thank you.
