| Verizon To Allow Pre-Paid Droids And More Posted: 01 Sep 2010 10:02 AM PDT Have you wanted a Droid, but not wanted to suck-up and get deep into a 2 year contract? Well it looks like you will have the option to go pre-paid here really soon. The phones that you will be able to get through Verizon include, Droid, Droid 2, Droid Incredible, Devour, Samsung Fascinate, and the Ally.
This could be an outlet for a lot of people that do not have good credit to finally get into the Android smartphone world. Or, even those who are stuck with an i device that are wanting to get into Android. This will be a really nice option, and hopefully other carriers will adopt the pre-paid option soon. | Samsung Galaxy Tab FCC Filings Say GSM Also Posted: 01 Sep 2010 08:25 AM PDT Just a couple of days ago we saw a leaked internal screen from Verizon showing that the Galaxy Tab would be available through them. Now that we have the FCC filings we are seeing that there will be GSM connectivity options also. The report says that it supports GSM frequencies of 850, 900,1800, 1900 and HSDPA is on board also. It also has dual-band 2.4GHz and 5.8GHz 802.11 a/b/g/n Wi-Fi that is capable of speeds up to 150MBPS, which will be very nice.
This has our minds wondering if Samsung might be trying to pull the same kind of strategy as they have with their Galaxy S phones. We are positive the Galaxy Tab would sale a lot better if it were available on the big 4 major carriers in the US. In the mean time we are waiting and waiting for the IFA-2010 announcement to see, what Samsung has in store. [via Wireless Goodness] ) |
| Motorola DEFY And Milestone 2 Officially Announced for Europe Q4 Posted: 01 Sep 2010 07:49 AM PDT After that leak yesterday of the Milestone, Motorola has come out and announced it along with another rugged handset called the DEFY. The DEFY is another MOTOBLUR device that is supposed to be able to handle normal every day environments that you throw at it. It is dust proof, water resistant, and the display has superior scratch protection.
The display is WVGA at the size of 3.7 inches, along with a 5 megapixel camera on back that has, digital zoom, autofocus, and flash. Motorola has also said they have put in twin microphones for their CrystalTalk PLUS DSP technology, for those days where you are trying to talk in the rain or wind storm with this water resistant device. Adobe Flash Lite will be equipped in the browser and it will be DLNA enabled to help connect and share with the world around you. So if you are wanting one of these devices they should be out soon enough to get them added on your Christmas list. [via SlashGear] ) |
| Verizon Fascinate Caught In The Wild Posted: 31 Aug 2010 03:41 PM PDT So as it gets closer to the rumored September 8/9 release date for the Samsung Fascinate, the leaks keep rolling in. This time we have some pics (where the device was obviously caught in the wild) showing the screen and Samsung’s Touch Wiz running on the device.
It is very interesting that it shows Bing as the search app on the device. Maybe Bing and Verizon are working with each other, especially after yesterdays announcement of the Bing app on Android devices for Verizon. Also the 180 page user guide was leaked if you are interested in looking over that. How many more days left? [via BGR] ) |

| Angry Birds Beta Coming To Android Soon Posted: 31 Aug 2010 02:28 PM PDT It’s something about slingshotting mad birds to kill some green pigs that makes us love the Angy Birds game so much. It has been successfully popular on the iPod touch, iPhone and iPad and now they are coming over to Android.
If you would like to sign up for the beta and have it available to you this friday, you can head over to this link HERE and get on the mailing list to get it. It should not be long before the game hits the Marketplace officially for everyone, and then we can sling our yellow birds and drop bombs on the pigs for as long as we wish. [via Droid-Life] ) |
| Motorola Milestone 2 Leaks Out Into The Wild Posted: 31 Aug 2010 01:35 PM PDT This really isn’t a surprise to us at all that the currently known Droid 2 would be the Motorola Milestone 2. Apparently though, someone leaked this info before Motorola wanted it to be out in the open. Milestone has all the goodies that you would expect it to have, being that it is a sister phone to the Droid 2.
It is packed with, 1GHz OMAP SOC, 512MB of RAM, 5 megapixel camera that is capable of recording HD Video, and 8GB of internal storage along with an 8GB micro SD card, all ran by Android 2.2 with Moto Blur smeared on top of it. Also available is the default tethering Wi-Fi hotspot that is built into Froyo. This phone should be coming to other carriers and this is some real proof of that.
