Multifunctional and Dynamic Curv Posted: 11 Oct 2010 08:39 AM PDT The Curv is the space saving, environmentally friendly solution for the 21st century home. The changes in housing market, particularly the reduction in the size of living accommodation, has seen a growing need for adaptable, space saving, multi-functional furniture. Inspired from the space-age furniture styling of the 1960's, the Curv is a modern adaptation that fulfils the needs of today's society. The Curv's elegance stems from the simplistic concept of providing two types of furniture from an integral item. When orientated horizontally, the Curv provides the user with a stylish table complete with a chair, perfect to use as either a work desk or dining table. With just with one effortless movement to position the product vertically, the Curv transforms into a comfortable chair with a side table; perfect for relaxing after a hard day's work. ---------- |
Posted: 11 Oct 2010 03:02 AM PDT Earos provides a convenient padding to your ear when you use it with your mobile phone. It fastens to any phone and even doubles up as display stand, when used in reverse position. A convenient fastener hooks it up to most phone models. It rotates on two axes, so that the ear pad can be repositioned in a jiffy, allowing access to the display. Its looks to be a comfortable addition to the phone, especially if you are the sorts to talk on it for long. Ears really tend to heat up fast, and Earos can be a good barrier! Key Features

It’s All About The Double-faced Pan! Posted: 11 Oct 2010 02:42 AM PDT Flip your pancakes or stir fry some veggies, shallow fry or cook some pasts, the versatile 2 in 2 L Pan allows you to do some much more! Laying it flat on its wide base makes it function like a normal pan, but using the indented narrow side allows you to whip up gourmet delights that require some frying. Totally love its space-saving attitude, and I'm already saving a hook for it in my kitchen! Designer: Seung Jun Jeong ---------- |
Ultimate Music Streaming Experience, Sonos S5 Review Posted: 11 Oct 2010 01:11 AM PDT I’ve spent the past two months with my Sonos S5 and have concluded it provides the best music streaming experience to date. I’m no newbie to the marvels of wireless music but my audio ecosystem was split up between what iTunes could handle and what my PS3 could stream. The Sonos S5 brings everything from my personal music library to external sources like Pandora, SIRIUS, and internet radio into one neat high fidelity package. I won’t muddle over details about what you get and how you set it up. Quite frankly, it’s simple. Take it out of the box, plug the power cable in, plug the ethernet cable into your wireless router, and turn it on. The syncing process only has to be done once and from then on, you never really have to touch it again. The system can be totally controlled thru your iPhone or the newly launched iPad app which is beautiful and easy to use. I keep using the word system instead of speaker because each speaker can operate independently or in tandem with other units each called a Zone. In theory you could have up to 32 of these bad boys, one in each room and closet of your home. Talk about surround sound! Of course we were only sent one so I can’t vouch for the multi-unit auditory, orgasmic bliss but from what I’ve read, there is no lag between each Zone so you won’t hear a strange echoing effect. The real fun is in the iOS apps. Sonos have done an amazing job organizing what could be a mess with intuitive controls that work for every streaming situation. All your basic functions like pausing, playing, selecting and navigating playlists are there. The real power is in creating playlists on the fly, searching your library and even enabling other iPhone/iPad users to join in and become guest DJ’s. One particular function I love is the sleep mode. I love to set mine to 30 minutes and let the music lull me to sleep. If you step back and think about what Sonos are trying to do, you realize this is the future of music. It doesn’t matter where it comes from. It only matters that you pick up one device, something as ubiquitous as a phone and your entire music library, be it on a hard drive or somewhere in a cloud, is instantly accessible. All the boundaries have disappeared once you “cut the cord.” What we love:
What could be improved:

Posted: 11 Oct 2010 12:15 AM PDT The ORA is an interesting radiator heat concept meant to be portable enough to move around, but for the ultimate in portability, a removable sleeve can provide ample heat around your neck when needed. The radiator itself has a simple clock-timer feature and the whole package looks quite fetching no? Designer: Mathieu Azema ---------- |
Posted: 11 Oct 2010 12:10 AM PDT The following is a short exploration of three separate bits of furniture from the fabulous design group known as “At-Once!” The objects we’re about to look at go by the name Glorify, Diamond, and Dinoz, being an armchair, a table, and a desktop accessory, respectively. Each of these items is meant to represent a feeling of greatness: the armchair being of royal essence, the table being cut with the recollection of classically carved furniture that was precious stone studded, and the Dinoz is pure fun – being made for anything from Chia-pet garden enjoyment to artist-minded pencil holder. Glorify armchair As a child, any adult-aimed chair will seem like a monster. This giant is made with extra-tall armrests and an array of color choices makes you feel like royalty when in its presence. Diamond table I remember going on a tour of the Duke of Northumberland’s living quarters in Alnwick castle while I was a student abroad in England up near Scotland. It was in that massive collection of decadence that I bore witness to the finest furniture I’ve ever seen. This table remembers as well as I do the fine facets filled with stones and other lovelies, “Diamond” being a contemporary reaction to this in a non-traditional way. Dinoz desktop accessory A lovely desk monster for anyone from a kid who wishes to fill it with crayons to a father wishing to teach his child how grass grows. This Dinoz comes with a batch of grass seed to plant in its back but also fits writing instruments nicely. Cute! Designer: At-Once Design ---------- |

Posted: 11 Oct 2010 12:03 AM PDT Designer Roberto Tweraser has taken that fantastically tasty bit of seasoning you put on everything from spaghetti to soup and turned it into a set of fabulous looking lamps! That’s right, sea salt! Combining only sea salt and a synthetic binder, Tweraser creates here a shade for pendant lamps that are smooth on the outside, unfinished on the in. Unfinished on the inside so that the refractory properties of the salt from the sea can be seen! Such a lovely usage of a naturally beautiful thing! Not made for eating! Be sure to keep these lamps out of your horse barn, as I’m sure they’d be chomped right up. “SALT” is what these are called, and home furnishings are what they’re intended as. Imagine them also for your restaurant – again, making sure your patrons know not to take a lick! Designer: Roberto Tweraser of tweraser design ---------- |
