Posted: 14 Oct 2010 05:42 AM PDT Right here is a tumbler called the Green Smart Glass, and it's meant for the cuppa addicts to put their piping hot beverage to good use. Most often people wait for their hot drinks to cool down a bit before consuming it. Now if they were to use this smart glass, then the heat loss process would be harnessed into an energy form, to be used later. While the technical details are very aptly described in the images, for you to ponder on, my only concern is the cleaning process. Will the glass withstand the dishwasher…or do we have to come up with a solution! Designer: Ruan Chengzhu ---------- |
Posted: 14 Oct 2010 04:50 AM PDT Two actions, screwing (as in screwing in a nail) and glowing (as in a light bulb), combining the two actions into a product, creates a totally tangent perspective. What Shiro Inoue is trying to do here is to explore how human behavior associates certain actions with reflecting objects, and when we include the action into the form, the results can be sometimes hilarious….like screwing a light bulb that glows! “For Your Personal Definition.”

Posted: 14 Oct 2010 12:03 AM PDT The first sentence I ever heard the word “Polish” in it was almost certainly a joke. Ever since then, Poles in every single different sect of professionalism including design and food preparation have been proving that first joke wrong. Polish people can make amazing stuff. Such amazing stuff that the old stuff inspires the new stuff. This “Nostalgic Table” is designed by Elad Shpigel, inspired by Polish heritage in his very own family. This table is made of epoxy and recycled veneers. Such a lovely amount of bent wood for the greatness of all the Poles! Such a slick look – but don’t spill your drink on it! Posted: 14 Oct 2010 12:03 AM PDT At your command now, here, is time itself! Or rather, the outward appearance of time as it sits on your wrist. Designer José Hurtado presents a watch that sits on your wrist and has arms and a ticker like any other wristwatch, but it only shows you the time when you want it. All you’ve got to do is click it! I know many of you, including me, suffers from time deprivation. No more of that! Only if you want it. Here is the Hide Watch! Yanko has a rich history (much of it very recent!) of wrist watch projects written up, all of which you should click on and read about. Get ready to use up about 5 hours. Posted: 14 Oct 2010 12:03 AM PDT You’ll be tumbling through the streets when you enjoy glass after glass of your favorite drink out of these lovely tumblers. They’re called Boulest and they’re all mouth blown. Each glass, in fact, is mouth blown and hand finished with delicate lenses. And then there’s the rocking. All the rocking! Each Boules tumbler can rock back and forth because they’ve got heavy bottoms. The best heavy bottoms for excellent rocking. Isn’t that always how it goes? They’ll never be sitting up straight, but they’re not so tipsy as to be dumping out all the time. A lens near the bottom of the glass guarantees the glass to be stable at a playful angle. Super!
