Fire Safety With Home Sprinkler System Posted: 03 Nov 2010 03:54 AM PDT This Sprinkler concept was designed for residential homes doing triple duty as a smoke detector, emergency light source, and sprinkler. Sometimes the nearest fire extinguisher just isn’t near enough so this bad boy is extra insurance. I’m not sure what it sprays to put out fires. Water would suggest the need for plumbing yet the diagram describes it as “powder.” Designers: Taewoong Kim & Chul Kim ---------- |
Posted: 03 Nov 2010 03:39 AM PDT The el:Dudy is an all around hand-held exercise system for “older” people. Each has a bevy of motion sensors and accelerometers to accurately track progress. All the information is sync’d and stored on your computer or phone via bluetooth Real Snazzy eh? This looks so cool. I can handle wrist twists and I love anything that helps stretches me out. And since when did massage become exercise? I’m not “old” but sign me up. Preventative measures people! Designer: Chan Po Yee ---------- |
Posted: 03 Nov 2010 03:22 AM PDT Ooh look! Nooka just added a new watch to their lineup. The Zayu is the latest in the Zub series. I’m particularly keen on the curved back because nobody’s wrist is flat. It’s also the first watch to have a “sleepmode” to conserve battery. The asymmetric design may look odd but you can flip the display to accommodate lefties and righties. That little notch sits perfectly above your sleeve – BRILLS! Five colors to choose from, see them after the jump. Pre-order now for $175. I know I am. Designer: Nooka (Buy it here) ---------- |
Posted: 03 Nov 2010 02:46 AM PDT “Get Job’s art out of your pocket and onto the wall” Enough Apple Hype to grab your attention? The focus today is on these tiny colorful rings that help you manage your earphone cords. The Budtrap urges you to turn your iPhone into art by confining your earbud wires to the One Less Tangle. I guess a more acceptable solution than zipping them up! I dig the Twitter Branding reference, makes awesome idea for corporate gifting! I’d take YD branded please! Designer: BudTrap ---------- |
Posted: 03 Nov 2010 02:01 AM PDT Did it even occur to you that one day you maybe wiping your hands and face with an area of your towel and the next day using the same area for ahem, “other” areas? Thanks to the guys at True Clean Towel, I've totally become aware of this! The solution for hygienic wipe-ups is either washing the towel everyday or using the True Clean Towel! The clever design highlights a "body", indicating the head, bottom and torso. Using a line from their info – "While the concept is of course meant to be funny, I think many couples will, when sharing a towel, appreciate the road map!" Based on a simple idea: knowing where you towel was the day before!

Posted: 03 Nov 2010 12:03 AM PDT It’s that time again. Time to guess what this item is without us telling you what it might be. Look at the preview image here, or if you came into this post from somewhere other than the index page, take a look at the gallery below without reading the description, and guess. Guess what this is, and behold, in the end of the third paragraph, is the real answer. While you’re thinking about what this item is, take a walk over to Guessing Game Deuce or Let’s Play the Guessing Game or search for another guessing game in our collected past by searching the word “Guess.” They’re all good, they all sort of rock. Guess below in the comments if you wish, then take a listen: this is a sponge for boots made in the shape of a computer mouse. Yes indeed, for cleaning your boots, (or otherwise shiny shoes,) is a mouse-shaped sponge tool with a button for dispensing cleaning fluid or water. Congratulations you were right! Posted: 03 Nov 2010 12:03 AM PDT So you’ve got your bike-sharing situation in the city, do you? We’ve got one over here in Minneapolis, and it’s working great! Electric bikes for everyone! Mister Roberto Dei Lidi liked such an idea, but wanted to spread it on over to cars. Car sharing, you say? Not just any car sharing, electric car sharing! How would you do such a thing? With a tower of cars, of course. This project has to do with the development of a park system aimed at electric car sharing. In doing so, very space-conscious parking is needed, so an automatic parking assistant and charging station “Smart Tower” is formed. Cars are lifted and rotated to save space and allow for individual vehicle assignment (based on how long it’s been since the car was plugged in or cleaned, I must guess.) And power is generated through solar panels and vertical wind turbines, of course! Designer: Roberto Dei Lidi ---------- |
Posted: 03 Nov 2010 12:03 AM PDT There have been many folding bicycle concepts posts in the many years Yanko Design has been in business, and here’s another one. One bike might fold to a small size, one might fold in a way that allows you to wheel it around. This one folds down max, max, max. Take a look at all the previous posts with folding bike concepts in them and compare. I cannot wait for the day when the bike folds down to the size of a wallet. That day is coming, and it’s coming soon. Did you see Transformers? It’s real stuff. This concept by Konstantin Datz is called the Azor bicycle and it folds down into basically nothing.
