| Android beats iPhone in number of total users for first time Posted: 07 Jan 2011 05:16 AM PST The numbers are in and for the first time the Android OS and its universe of devices has beat the iPhone in total number of users. The stats come courtesy of comScore MobiLens. According to the company, Android had 26% of users for the month of November.
During the same month, the iPhone had 25% of users. RIM was still at the top of the list with 33.5% of all users, but their numbers are declining with a 4.1 point change from August of 2010. While RIM is seeing user numbers decline, the Android OS has seen numbers grow by 6.4 points since August. Apple’s growth is much slower than Android at 0.8 point. Microsoft has 9% of the users and Palm had 3.9% for November. Via UberGizmo ) |

| Loopt for Android gets new Move to SD Card feature Posted: 07 Jan 2011 03:31 AM PST Last month I mentioned that Loopt for Android had hit version 4.0 and got some new features along with the version update. We are only a few weeks out from that last update and Loopt is getting another new feature.
The Android app has been gifted with what Loopt says is one of the most requested features for users. The most requested feature added to the app is App2SD to allow the user to store the Loopt app to an SD card rather than on the phone itself. That ability will be most welcome to users of Android devices that have internal memory packed with other stuff. The new feature also lets the user move the app between internal device storage and the SD card when the app is running. The new feature is accessed in the Settings – Applications – Manage applications area and all the user needs to do is hit Move to SD card. ) |

| Hulu Plus Coming Soon to Android Devices Posted: 06 Jan 2011 06:20 PM PST While Android may not be the highest name on the totem when it comes to media consumption, especially for streaming media, we know that it’s going to change in the near future. With Netflix on the way, eventually, another heavy hitter in the market that people have been clamoring for is Hulu, and now it’s been officially unveiled that the video streaming service is on its way to Android.
During the Samsung conference, the company’s CEO revealed that Hulu is currently working on bringing their subscription-based service, known as Hulu Plus, to Google’s mobile Operating System.
