| Posted: 14 Feb 2011 08:50 AM PST We finally made it to my personal favorite iPad reader app The FLUD! Make sure you grab the latest update and add our feed because it is lookin’ mad sexy. It’s awesome to be included amongst our friends at Notcot and Fubiz. If you prefer to FLUD on the go, the iPhone version should hit the streets in a few weeks. | Posted: 14 Feb 2011 08:12 AM PST Easy to use CPAP – Therapy System or Continuous Positive Airway Pressure is an aid that eases breathing for folks with sleep apnea. The device doubles up as a humidifier as well and integrates easily into the home environment. Although I like what it’s trying to do, it looks a little too medical for home use and I suspect it’ll put a damper on home relations too if you know what I mean. Designer: Andreas Ruesch

| Flameless Outdoor Cooker for Campers Posted: 14 Feb 2011 02:07 AM PST The Outdoor Chef is a shortlisted entry in the 2011 Australian Design Award-James Dyson Award. It’s an all-in-one camp cooker designed for portability, storage, food prep and of course cooking. The flameless induction cooktop is perfect for fire restricted camp sites and considering this is from a country recently ravaged by fire – it emphasizes safety without compromising the joy of being outdoors. The James Dyson Award is an international design award that celebrates, encourages and inspires the next generation of design engineers. It's run by the James Dyson Foundation, James Dyson's charitable trust, as part of its mission to inspire young people about design engineering. Designer: Jessica Damsma

Aesthetically, without the central cabling in the way, you get an even circular disk of light uninterrupted by wires. I love when design is as simple as moving a seam or line to create an entirely new yet enigmatic silhouette. Photographs: Moritz Lila Hlawatscheck Designers: Liran Levi & Gilad Karlshtadt

| Posted: 14 Feb 2011 12:54 AM PST The construction industry suffers from one of the highest work-related accidents across the board with nearly 60% of those injured having to leave indefinitely. The H3 is a vest with integrated accumulators on the back and supporting arm. The design improves physical efficiency using artificial muscle technology. It’s meant to assist the human operator, not replace him/her. The H3 is an 2011 iF Concept Design Entry. Designer: Martin Gschwandtl

| The Sunshine on my Wall is Informative! Posted: 14 Feb 2011 12:41 AM PST The usual task of a wall clock is to indicate time and at the least, look pretty. What if we were to add laser beams, touchpad UI, WiFi, bluetooth and computer syncing? Now wouldn't that be a rocking concept! The proposed Sundial is all of the aforementioned; a cool device on the wall that will beam you the weather, your appointments for the day, stock markets and whatever else you please! | Posted: 14 Feb 2011 12:01 AM PST The Traccia is a phone concept modeled on how we use a writing instrument, specifically a pen. The intuitive way we write on a sheet is translated to commands for the phone thanks to the embedded optical sensor located at the end of the stick. Basically whatever you write gets translated to a command or function via the installed software. This means your invisible writing can be converted to SMS or an email, just like that! The navigation design is basic with just three simple keys to one end. The built in polycarbonate gives the phone a natural feel and makes the touchscreen even more alluring. And of course no phone is complete without a camera, so the Traccia positions its camera at the center of the arc, right under the display. All said I done, I just have to wonder if the grip of this phone is as comfortable as the rest. An arc on a stick doesn't look ideal, but you never know till you don't try it. Designer: Andrea Ponti
