StanleyNg and Wai Chiu, designers from Hong Kong, are giving you the opportunity to create your own customized colorful (or just one solid color) headphones by using the application on their site. MIYA headphones are customizable and of course they work with all MP3/Media players and phones. | Simple Safety for Mountain Climbers Posted: 24 May 2011 12:15 AM PDT Designer Malcolm Russell’s innate affinity for rock climbing is the source of inspiration for his latest design, Salus, a mountaineering safety tool that makes for quick and concise correspondence between climbing partners. The lightweight device latches onto the user’s harness and uses simple colored lights as basic commands, providing a safe and easy way to communicate invaluable information like danger warnings or a notification of a successful climb. The solid Perspex lights have been sandblasted to soften the light, and the casing has been manufactured using PVC toughened plastic for roughness and durability. Designer: Malcolm Russell

| Posted: 24 May 2011 12:01 AM PDT One of my favorite things about visiting new cities is being able to soak up the unique musical culture that exists within each individual place. The Insono focuses this idea into an aesthetically playful and easy to use location-based mp3 player that gives local unsigned artists the chance to broadcast their music and users the chance to experience the musical soundtrack unique to their new surroundings , enhancing their overall connection and affinity for the culture. The device uses GPS and track-tagging technology to broadcast local musician’s songs specific to each neighborhood, creating a “soundtrack to life” in each area the user visits. To find out more information about a song, the user simply presses the “info” button to receive the artist’s name, track titles, as well as where and when the artist will be performing.
