Motorola Giving Away Five Droid 3s on Twitter

Posted: 09 Jul 2011 03:09 PM PDT

With how much I’ve been writing about the Droid 3, I’m starting to think maybe not acknowledging the Droid 3 wasn’t such a bad idea on Moto’s part. Either way with a dual-core processor and 5 row qwerty keyboard the Droid 3 is a pretty sweet phone and the top of the line if you want a physical keyboard. Now that its admitted it exists Motorola’s giving 5 of them away via Twitter.

If Android phones are awesome, then free Android phones are awesome-er. The Droid 3 is being given away via Motorola’s Twitter over the next week. To enter you just need to re-tweet one of their tweets telling you to, and include “#DROID3win”, before 11:59 pm (EST) on July 12.

The Droid 3 is worth a tweet or two for its 4″qHD screen, TI OMAP4 dual-core processor, and world phone powers. Unfortunately it does have a signed bootloader, and if you aren’t already on Verizon, you won’t be able to get unlimited data. For a free phone (that doesn’t even stick you with a contract) I’d be willing to look past that though. So, keyboard fans, follow @Motorola and tweet your thumbs off!

Samsung Hercules Headed to T-Mobile this September?

Posted: 09 Jul 2011 11:50 AM PDT

If the latest reports are accurate we might be seeing the Samsung Hercules land over on T-Mobile this September. If the HTC Sensation or the recently troubled G2x dual-core phones aren’t what you desire maybe the Hercules will be, it has great specs to back it up.

In case you haven’t heard the Samsung Hercules could very well be the Galaxy S II variant for T-Mobile, with a boosted screen size hitting 4.5″ and looking beautiful with that AMOLED display. We haven’t seen much of Hercules as of late but he could have recently passed through the FCC.

The Samsung Hercules specs if to be believed feature that 4.5″ AMOLED display, Android 2.3 Gingerbread with NFC support. Reports suggesting a Qualcomm 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 16GB storage and 1GB RAM, loaded with a 8MP rear camera as well as a front VGA all topped off with some T-Mobile 4G speeds. Sounds perfect if I don’t say so myself. With recent reports about carriers and Samsung not able to agree to a Galaxy S II launch the Hercules will just have to make do, but I’m not complaining.
