NVIDIA Showcases GPU’s Remarkable Power At SC11

Posted: 07 Nov 2011 12:20 PM PST

We're gearing up and heading out on the road to Seattle for SC11 on Nov. 12-18. Given the importance of the GPU in computationally complex science and research, this international conference for high performance computing, networking, storage and analysis is right up our alley.

As someone who has lived in Seattle, I can attest to the great coffee that'll be served up that week, but it will be SC11 that will get us going in the morning. We're expecting a veritable feast of great speakers, sessions, the latest hardware and software solutions on the trade show floor, and plenty of opportunities to connect with industry professionals.

On Monday, Nov. 12, NVIDIA engineers and fellow experts will host the High Performance Computing with CUDA workshop, an all-day tutorial on best approaches to CUDA programming using real-world examples.

Jen-Hsun Huang, NVIDIA's co-founder and CEO, will deliver the keynote on Tuesday morning.  Always a compelling speaker, he will definitely have some interesting things in store for the SC11 crowd.

For those of you attending in person, you can find us on the tradeshow floor at booth 2719 from Monday through Thursday. Make sure to stop by our GPU Technology Theater, where you'll find informative talks from HPC luminaries. There are roughly 40 talks to choose from, including:

  • Ian Buck, from NVIDIA, on GPU Computing Past, Present and Future
  • Jack Dongarra, from University of Tennessee, on A Linear Algebra Library for Multi-core/Accelerators: the PLASMA/MAGMA Collection
  • Satoshi Matsuoka, from Tokyo Institute of Technology, on Tsubame 2.0 Experiences-Petascale Computing with GPUs Works
  • Steve Scott, from NVIDIA, on Why the Future of HPC will be Green

We will have a host of NVIDIA experts on hand every day, ready to share helpful tips and tricks for development on GPUs. Whether you are a beginner or advanced user of GPUs we have something for you.

Oh, I forgot to mention, if you're headed to Seattle, there's also the rain. A perfect excuse to stay indoors and hang out with us in our booth.

So, come by and visit us at SC11. We'd be happy to help you optimize your code over a great cup of coffee.

If you can't join us in person in Seattle, we're live streaming every session. Yes, every single session will be streamed through our GPU Technology Theater Facebook app. We dare you to watch them all!

Enjoy the show!
