It was a smartphone and tablet packed week here in the world of Android Community and we aren’t quite sure where to start. These are the kind of weeks that most Android fans truly enjoy. From Motorola unloading a new entourage of smartphones for Verizon, Amazon doing the same for tablets, and plenty of leaks so lets dive in.

We’ll start off with a leak since everyone probably already saw Motorola’s slew of announcements. The biggest leak for us was the rumors suggesting Google and ASUS are preparing to launch a Nexus 7 3G with HSPA+ bands for sale to the Google Play Store. We can’t be for sure if we’ll see 4G LTE models for Verizon or AT&T, but I sure hope so.

Moving on to actual devices Motorola had a big week with multiple announcements at their event in New York City. It was their first event since being overtaken by Google and they didn’t disappoint. In Google’s usual fashion everyone went home with their own Motorola DROID RAZR M smartphone that was announced at the same event. While some found Moto’s announcements underwhelming their smartphones have sold in huge numbers on Verizon, and likely will continue with their latest. Motorola announced the new and improved DROID RAZR HD with a 4.7-inch HD display, Android 4.0 ICS, and a huge 2,530 mAh battery. Then they surprised us with a DROID RAZR MAXX HD just like last round, which also has a massive 3,300 mAh battery for all day battery life.

Then lastly as we mentioned above Motorola dropped the new edge-to-edge display featuring DROID RAZR M with the same 4.3-inch screen size as most phones, yet extremely small and lightweight. You’ll want to check out our coverage and hands-on of all those devices from the timeline of links below.

Then probably the other most exciting news came from Amazon where they announced their new and improved Kindle Fire tablet with a faster dual core, then improved on their offerings with a Kindle Fire HD in both 7 and 8.9-inch flavors. The 8.9-inch Kindle Fire HD tablet rocks a 1920 x 1200 with a truly HD screen, and even offers 4G LTE all for $499. Amazon might have a custom UI that many will steer clear of in favor of vanilla Android or Jelly Bean — but their new tablets sure are priced to sell.

Then for leaks and teases LG teased their new Optimus G quad-core smartphone a few times, the 5-inch HTC phablet leaked more than once, and HTC’s upcoming One X+ with a 1.6 GHz quad-core for T-Mobile leaked on Twitter. Last but certainly not least we here at Android Community are giving away three NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core tablets in part by NVIDIA and Vector Unit for their new game Beach Buggy Blitz.
