Samsung Fascinate for Verizon Showcases September 9th Launch Date Again

Posted: 27 Aug 2010 04:06 PM PDT

The leaked documents regarding the Samsung Fascinate for Verizon, the Samsung Galaxy S variant heading to the largest wireless carrier in the United States, keep on coming. No complaints here — but it is certainly making us want the 9th of September to come faster. Oh, and an official statement from Verizon. That’d be nice, too. In the mean time, though, we get to stare at another leaked internal Verizon document that showcases pre-paid device training for employees.

As you can see from the image, the Fascinate is listed, quite simply, that it will be readily available beginning 09/09/2010. Considering the mounting, and hard to ignore evidence, we’re pretty sure that at this point, we can safely start assuming that the Super AMOLED device is hitting Verizon shelves on that date.

Oh, here’s something else: the Fascinate is listed, along with its other Android brethren (like the Droid X and Droid 2) as being devices that will be allowed on a pre-paid plan. Very interesting news, in of itself, if you ask us. Would anyone out there prefer to have their Droid on a pre-paid plan, instead of having to sign over for those two years?

HTC Manufactured Device Looks Like an EVO, Heading to Verizon

Posted: 27 Aug 2010 03:59 PM PDT

Ready to look at a nicely framed device that doesn’t quite yet have a name or release date? Good, because here it is. As you can probably already tell, it looks strikingly familiar. It definitely has the same lines as the EVO, the first 4G-capable device launched on Sprint a couple of months ago. But, it has that same brushed aluminum attractiveness that the Nexus One features, which makes it easily one of the most attractive devices not available right now.

According to a Ninja talking with BGR, the device is certainly heading to Verizon, and as you can see right there, it has an 8MP camera on the back with dual LED flash. According to the source, not only is this one of the best looking devices, it also makes the Droid 2 look like a toy. Bold words, certainly. Oh, and if you’re not enticed yet, there’s also word that this 4.3-inch device features a front-facing camera. That’s right — video calling is coming to Verizon, supposedly. It also has a kickstand. There’s no definitive word that the device will feature Android, but considering it’s heading to Verizon and rumored to launch by the end of the year, we’re putting our bet that it will showcase our favorite mobile Operating System.
