Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 – World’s Thinnest Tablet Available June 8 Posted: 03 Jun 2011 11:15 AM PDT The countdown is on. Samsung's new Galaxy Tab 10.1 powered by our Tegra 2 mobile processor, will be available on June 8. You can be one of the first to get it at the Union Square Best Buy or pre-order on www.bestbuy.com starting June 8th. It’s the thinnest on the market, weighs only 1.3 pounds and measures .34" thick. There will also be a 4G LTE version available for pre-order from Verizon Wireless on June 8 as well. The user experience is fantastic. Galaxy Tab 10.1 users will also be able to download and play new Tegra-optimized games like Riptide GP, the first console-quality water racing game for mobile, available on Tegra Zone. The Tegra 2 super chip enables console-quality gaming, powerful multimedia capabilities, faster web browsing with full Adobe Flash support, HD resolution (1280×800) and 1080p HD video playback. The Galaxy Tab 10.1 also runs the latest version of Honeycomb – Android 3.1. Android 3.1 features UI enhancements, USB connectivity features, optimizations for GPU-accelerated Flash Player, graphics improvement and system performance, and new and improved apps like Google Music and HD movies on Android Market. Samsung is hitting the road to show off the Galaxy Tab 10.1 with Tegra and they've invited NVIDIA to come by and demo some new games over the next few weeks – check out the destinations below and let us know if we'll see you there.
